About Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad is the 2016 DC Extended Universe action film directed by David Ayer, in which a covert government task force of incarcerated supervillains takes on a black-ops mission in exchange for reduced sentences. The film's title lockup uses a heavy condensed grotesque set in graffiti-coloured caps, the kind of muscular, all-cap display register that has become a default for comic-book ensemble cinema.
Warner Bros. and DC Films built the Suicide Squad campaign around the contrast between the brutal, industrial title typography and the loud spray-paint colour palette layered over it. That mash-up of disciplined letterforms and chaotic surface treatment ran through the film's posters, social art, and home-release packaging, and set a visual template that influenced the broader DC slate as well as competing superhero ensemble brands.

Where this style works
Heavy condensed grotesques carry action and superhero film marketing, sports broadcast lockups, energy-drink wordmarks, comic-book and graphic-novel cover lettering, video-game UI for shooters and brawlers, and any layout that wants forceful presence at any scale. The cramped horizontal proportions let long titles fit comfortably across posters and album sleeves without losing weight.
